The Nose Knows! Introduction to K9 Nose Work® Workshop

A relatively new sport called K9 Nose Work® (K9NW) has taken the dog sport world by storm! K9NW combines all the things that most dogs love to do: sniff, search, hunt, eat and play! This is truly a sport for everyone and just about every dog! Great for dogs 6 months and older, at any training level or no training experience whatsoever! It is great for older dogs, retired agility/obedience dogs, shy dogs, dog reactive dogs, and dogs with physical limitations! K9NW is a wonderful mental activity for your dogs!

Come learn from Certified K9 Nose Work@reg; Instructor and professional trainer, Cari Reed about the history of sport, the fundamentals, how it works, and the different levels of training whether you decide to try it just for fun or for competition. It can be just for fun or to eventually compete for titles through the National Association of Canine Scent Work®, LLC

Cari will demonstrate all 4 search elements of Nose Work using experienced dogs: Interior, Exterior, Container and Vehicle Searches. There will also be a limited number of working spots available for members' dogs to be introduced to boxwork, which the fundamental beginning to learning the sport. Although Nose Work is for most dogs, for demonstration purposes, only dogs that are not reactive/aggressive towards people or other dogs will be allowed a working spot.
