INSTRUCTOR BRAGS

From Nancy Walkins:

On October 6 & 7, at the Mount Vernon / Capital Dog Training Club’s AKC Obedience event, held in Alexandria, VA, three Walkins’ dogs qualified in eight out of eight Rally classes.

Border Collie Yaz (U-CD Silveridge Yaz CDX, RE, AD, SSA, SG, SR, OA, OAJ, NF, NCC, TG-N, TN-N, CGC, TDI) qualified in both Rally Excellent B and Rally Advanced B each day to earn his fifth and sixth RAE legs. Yaz placed first three times and third once with scores of 100, 100, 99, and 99. On Sunday, Yaz was the only dog, in all levels of Rally, to earn a score of 100 from the judge, a very tough marker.  Border Collie Cash (Sagehill Time is Money RA, FDCh-S, HTD1-s, HRD1-s, HTAD1-s, CGC, TDI) earned a Rally Excellent leg each day, placing third (95) and fourth (96). This was Cash’s first event at the Excellent level.  Border Collie Lucy (Loudoun’s Lofty Lucy RN, CGC) qualified both days in Rally Novice to complete her RN title with a score of 97 each time (third and fourth place). Lucy had to repeat the same type of station each day (hence the 3 point deduction) since she does not think that a leash should wind around her during a sit or down stay!
