July 2007

STUDENT BRAGS

From Sandy Martin:

On July 1st, at the Dachshund Club of New Jersey's AKC Earthdog test in Crosswicks, NJ, Bedlington Terrier Rudy (CH Chelsea's Rootbeer Float RN, NA, OAJ, ME) qualified in Senior Earthdog at lightning speed.  He was the fastest in his class, taking only  six seconds to cover 90 feet of tunnel to get to the rats, and only 10 seconds to recall to his handler.

On July 7th & 8th , at the Blue Ridge AKC agility trial in Winchester, VA, Bedlington Terrier Emmy (CH Jewelbox Emerald RN, NA, NAJ) qualified once in Novice Preferred Standard and then twice, with clean runs, in Novice Preferred JWW.

From Judi Shinogle:

At the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club’s AKC agility trial, held on July 28 & 29 in Westminster, MD,  GSP Siegfried (Summertime's Makin' Waves JH, NA, NAJ, AD) earned two Open JWW legs, placing first both times.

From Janice Morton:

On July 7th, at the BRDTC’s AKC agility trial, Doberman Dicey (Smack-Dab's Daring Dicey MX, MXJ, OF, CGC) qualified in Excellent B JWW.

At the WCWDCA ‘s AKC agility trial on July 20-22, Dicey qualified in Excellent B Standard on Friday. On both Saturday and Sunday, she qualified in Excellent B JWW, placing third on Saturday.

At the Corgi Club’s AKC agility trials on July 28 & 29, Dicey qualified in Excellent B Standard on Saturday, placing third, and on Sunday, in Excellent B JWW, placing fourth. Those Double Qs are elusive, but the MACH points are adding up!

Our biggest brag is that Dicey made the 2007 Top 20 Agility Finalist list for our national breed club, DPCA. We will be traveling to Fitchburg, MA the end of September to take part in a special night of competition with the other finalists, consisting of a Standard course, a JWW course, and then a weave pole relay knock out while scores are tabulated. There will be spotlights, and lots of clapping and cheering! We also get a huge ribbon during the presentation at the end of the events. It is especially exciting for me because although my Doberman  Hildy (Schon Hildegard der Klug CD, MX, MXJ, EAC, NJC, NGC, PD, DSA, CGC) made the Top 20 in 2005, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma  that spring and received the honor posthumously.

From Taryn Tipton:

On July 7th, at the Blue Ridge Dog Training Club’s AKC agility trial in Winchester, VA, Cardigan Corgi Wilson (Caduceus Castaway Wilson OJP, OAP, FFX-AG, CGC), earned his first Excellent Standard Preferred leg, placing first.

From Alyssia Greiner:

On July 14 &15, at the SSCGB Rally Obedience trial in Beltsville, MD, Rat Terrier Spring (U-CH Smartypants Spring Loaded RN, CGC) competed in Rally Novice B, qualifying with a 96 on Saturday and a 95 on Sunday, to earn her Rally Novice title.

On July 27th, at the Pawzazz NADAC trial in Lothian, MD, Miniature Pinscher, Timmy (Sir Timothy Crimson Tide MXJ, RA, AJ, SS, SG, SR, PD1, PJ2, PK2, PG1, EAC, S-EJC, OCC, TN-E, WV-O, TG-N, N-Versatility, FMX, CGC) qualified in Elite Standard with a second place and in Tunnelers with a third place.

INSTRUCTOR BRAGS

From Nancy Walkins:

At the Yankee Golden Retriever Club’s AKC agility trial, held in Derry, NH on July 7 & 8, Border Collie Yaz (U-CD Silveridge Yaz CDX, RE, SG, NA, OAJ, NCC, TG-N, TN-N, CGC, TDI) qualified with a clean run and placed first in Open JWW both days to earn his first two OAJ legs. On Saturday, Yaz was the only qualifier of the 50 dogs in the 20” class, and posted the fastest times of all Open competitors both days in a very large Open division.

From Peny Lang:

On July 14 & 15, IG Aura (PHF OneWinkAtATime At Spritely) was Winners Bitch & Best Of Breed both days at the Shawnee Kennel Club Breed Show under Judges Dennis McCoy & Randy Garren. Aura now has 11 points & one major toward her AKC Championship title.

Congratulations and wags to everyone!
